Lincoln South Rotary Club brings hope for a better world by finding ways to support our community.

Recently the Lincoln South Rotary Club, through its Foundation, selected Villa Marie Home & School For Exceptional Children to receive a $2,000 grant.

Tracey McLain, President of the Lincoln South Rotary Club Foundation stated, “supporting local organizations is a focus of the Lincoln South Rotary Club Foundation and is very fulfilling for us”.

Villa Marie serves students challenged with Downs Syndrome, Autism, developmental delays and other health impairments. Recently a couple of their students experienced homelessness. Children often carry their belongings in garbage bags as they move from place to place when homeless or in a foster care situation.

The grant will support the I CARE suitcase program that includes a suitcase packed with some essentials for students that fall into those situations.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of the Lincoln South Rotary Club Foundation for this grant. Having a suitcase – rather than carrying their belongings in a garbage bag – will provide some dignity to the situation”, stated Jenny Chase the Executive Director of Villa Marie.
